When I first started photography over 20 years ago I was fascinated by the human face. I still am. The portraits below are not necessarily works of art but they are interesting. Why? Because they are close-ups of one of our favorite subjects, other humans. As children, we are told not to stare at others. Why are kids so inclined to stare? We’re just born loving to look at each other. A close-up portrait gives us all the time in the world to stare and ponder without etiquette getting in the way.
